Frequently Asked Questions
Q
What are your cutoff times?
A
Our cutoff times are 9AM MST for checks and 8PM EST for ACH on weekdays. Checks will not be sent out on USPS holidays and ACH Direct Deposits will not be processed on banking holidays. Digital checks are typically sent instantly.
I have some questions about Digital Checks
Please see our Digital Checks FAQs page.
Q
Is there any error validation of ACH payment destination account/routing information?
A
It is important for you to provide us validated information to send out ACH payments, including payee name, account type, routing number, account number, and payment amount. In some cases, the receiving bank may reject payments based on a mismatch between account information and payee name but this should not be counted on.
Q
If an incorrectly formatted address was provided for a check would the check still be printed with an incomplete address or would the payment be put in an error state?
A
We geocode what we get on addresses so in some rare cases errors may get through, if they are not autocorrected or put in the payments repair queue. We’ve tried to make things as resilient as possible while being as flexible as possible and still trying to maintain quality control, so it’s a balancing act.
Q
ACH Originator ID – Our bank requires ACH Originator IDs for allowing ACH transfers. Can you share your ACH/originator ID or point us to where it’s listed?
A
Please contact Checkissuing Support to receive our ACH Origination ID
Q
Do you have minimum and maximum payment amounts supported?
A
For check payments, the minimum is $.01 and maximum is only limited by what the clients bank allows. The maximum for ACH payments is 10K unless special approval for higher payments has been approved.
Q
When creating an ACH payment will the memo field be the text that appears on bank statements?
A
The field that will be passed onto the bank statements will be the Addendum field.
Q
What is Payment Send Date?
A
Send Date is for future dating payments. It defaults to either the current day (if it’s before our payment cut off time of 9AM MST), or the next business day if it’s after the cutoff.
Q
When can I cancel a payment?
A
You can cancel a payment up until it’s processing. This is typically 9AM MST for check payments, 5 PM EST for ACH Direct Deposit payments, and Digital Checks can be canceled up until the time the Digital Check is redeemed.

What happens if I have an error in my file when I upload?
A
Those types of errors likely have something to do with the mapping of the fields in your file upload, or a missing field in one of your payees addresses. If you correct that error after uploading, your file should be ready to go. In the case of error(s), the file will not be rejected.

How do I know when my checks are cashed?
A

Does the 9AM MST cutoff for checks and 8PM EST cutoff for ACH also apply on weekends, or are both of these only processed on weekdays? If it’s weekdays only, will everything created after Friday’s cutoff be processed on Monday? Do bank holidays have an impact on ACHs and checks?
A
Those cutoff times apply to only weekdays, not weekends. As far as the weekdays, checks are not sent out on holidays that the USPS is not open and ACH’s are not processed on banking holidays. And yes, everything created after Friday’s cutoff be processed on Monday.
